
Antonina Lewandowska
National Advocacy Coordinator at the Foundation for Women and Family Planning (FEDERA)
Antonina Lewandowska is a sociologist, researcher, and activist. She holds a BA and MA in sociology and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Warsaw, researching abortion experiences within systemic and institutional contexts. She is also an alumna of the Leadership, Communication and Policy Skills Development course at the University of Cambridge. From 2019 to 2022, she served as the first sexual abuse consultant at the University of Warsaw Students’ Union, a role she created. Professionally, she is the National Advocacy Coordinator at the Foundation for Women and Family Planning (FEDERA), where she works to improve access to abortion and contraception and combat gynecological and obstetric violence in Poland. She also collaborates with international organizations such as the ASTRA Network to advance reproductive rights across Central and Eastern Europe, and contributes to policy-making at the EU and UN levels. Co-author of several reports on the state of sexuality education and women’s rights in Poland, she now serves as an expert with the European Union’s Contraception Atlas. In 2022, she was named Women’s Champion of the Year by Population Matters for her dedication to defending reproductive rights under restrictive political conditions. That same year, she received the Tadeusz Mazowiecki Award for socially engaged young Varsovians.
