As the academic year slowly comes to a close, so does our current cycle of meetings within the Student Chapter of the Gender/Sexuality Research Group. It’s hard to believe, but our last event before the summer break is just around the corner.
With great joy and a touch of nostalgia, we warmly invite you to join us for a gathering titled “What Is Love? A Collective Reading and Conversation Inspired by bell hooks”, which will take place on June 5th, 2025, at 4:45 PM in room 0.246, Dobra 55.
In today’s Western societies, we often find ourselves growing distant from love; not only as a feeling, but as a conscious, everyday practice. During the meeting, we’ll explore how we can reconnect with love and consider its impact on our lives, relationships, and communities.
Together, we’ll read selected passages from bell hooks’ “All About Love” and reflect on her radical understanding of love as action grounded in care, commitment, responsibility, and knowledge. The session will be led by Anastas Krusińska (they/them), an educator, artist, and activist affiliated with the Camera Femina Foundation and the Let’s Start The Revolution short film competition.
We’ll begin with a short introduction and time to connect, followed by collective reading and an open, facilitated space for sharing reflections and experiences.
The event will be held in English.
We’d be truly happy to see you there. Let’s come together one more time to close this chapter, and step into whatever comes next with care, curiosity, and community.
